Nature’s wisdom is the answer to our skincare needs
Our lives are filled with hectic schedules, busy workdays, and everything in between. I know mine is! I have five kids, one in college, one in high school, and 3 in elementary - I home school, they play sports, I make it a point to exercise, and I am trying to run a business! If anyone knows hectic, that is me! In the midst of life's chaos, I see and value the beauty of simplicity. What does that mean? As a busy parent, I am always trying to figure out how to be more efficient with time and balance work and life. Sometimes, just taking a step back and reflecting on the day or situation, helps me to identify what I need versus what I think I need.
Embracing the small joys, for me that’s the first sip of coffee, the warmth of sunlight, or a gentle breeze, hearing my kids giggle, can ground us. By focusing on what truly matters in life and letting go of unnecessary distractions, we can find peace. That is my daily goal. Some days I accomplish my goal, and others, I chalk it up as experience and try to learn from it, so I can be a better person the next day. When we simplify our surroundings and our thoughts, it allows us to appreciate the world more deeply, transforming the hectic into moments of clarity and grace. That is the end game after all, finding that sweet spot between chaos and bliss and feeling good about what we got done that day, and looking forward to what we can accomplish the next.
Simplifying life means clarity, and encountering a sense of calm in the noisiness and chaos of life.
In other words, simple is best and less is more.
One facet of life that can be simplified is embracing and applying the mantra, “less is more” towards skincare. The motivation to create Naked Lotus Skincare was initially to solve a personal issue. I needed to provide myself a solution to a problem I didn’t realize existed until I took a step back and evaluated what was in front of me.
A bit of backstory, I have always tried to take care of my skin. I use a sun block and diligently moisturize my skin.
But…
One night, I found myself reordering all my skincare at once, and the total cost gave me pause. It hit me: purchasing them one by one had masked the bigger picture. But seeing them all together? The quantity, the cost... it was frustrating and overwhelming.
Each cream promised something different: hydration, anti-aging, brightening, wrinkle repair. And I had bought into the idea that I needed every single one to feel good in my skin. But in that moment, with a cart full of overpriced promises, I realized something essential; I had lost sight of what I actually needed.
That’s when it hit me. My skin didn’t need all of this. I didn’t need all of this.
That night became a turning point. I decided I was done chasing complicated routines and unrealistic ideals.
I started over.
I was introduced to beef fat! Yes!
I laughed out loud then, and I still giggle now when I explain to someone that my healthy skin is from tallow.
It was Nature’s answer, simple, effective, and honest. An all-in-one solution to everything I had over complicated.
That’s in part how Naked Lotus Skincare began: born from the desire to strip away the excess and return to simplicity and to what truly nourishes.
I believe that simplicity in skincare can bring a sense of calm and clarity. Everyone is busy all the time. Can we have one part of our lives be uncomplicated, please? Yes, absolutely!
Focusing on a few essential products in your routine allows you to nurture your skin without the stress of an elaborate, time consuming process. That is exactly what happened for me. I no longer had to wait in between cream applications for optimum effects or let one cream dry before applying the next, because that’s what the instructions stated. I use one face cream - our Luxe Face Cream, and that is all I need.
I created skincare for a problem I had because a one for all solution didn’t exist. By focusing on quality over quantity, you can achieve healthy & nourished skin.
